About Bully Pulpit Games

Bully Pulpit Games publishes innovative games of outstanding quality. We specialize in making award-winning tabletop and live action games that challenge assumptions and blur boundaries.

Our game Fiasco was an instant hit, won us our unprecedented second Diana Jones Award for Gaming Excellence (2011), and has influenced a generation of other designers. Star Crossed by Alex Roberts also won the Diana Jones Award in 2019.

Our historical games, like Grey Ranks (Diana Jones Award 2008) and Night Witches (Indie Game of the Year 2015), shine spotlights onto little-known stories at the fringes of popular narratives, and allow players to experience the joy and terror of bold lives full of contemporary resonance.

Our live action games, like JUGGERNAUT and WINTERHORN, throw players into impossible situations and confront them with deliciously difficult choices, redefining "larp" with crisp, self-driven games that reach a satisfying conclusion in a couple of hours.

History

Bully Pulpit Games was founded by Steve Segedy, Jason Morningstar, and Patrick Murphy in 2005 to promote independent gaming and share our work with a broader audience.

Our goal from the beginning was to offer materials that live up to the standards set by our company's namesake, the late Colonel Theodore Roosevelt. Those standards are, as the Colonel put it so succinctly, “Fair play and a square deal”.
